Holland coach Marco Van Basten today spoke of his anger as Jan Kromkamp completed a move to Liverpool. Van Basten, formerly of AC Milan said that Kromkamp had made the wrong choices for his career.

"It is annoying that Kromkamp, who is a good player, made the wrong choices for his career, it is sad when someone throws away his own chances and also doesn't help us," explained the Holland ace.

Kromkamp quit Spanish football and took a turn towards Anfield, joining the current Champions League winners. However Van Basten believes that the 25-year-old should never have left AZ Alkmaar in order to join Villarreal.

"Jan has to make choices. I have no influence on that but, if he wanted my advice, that was possible. It seems to us that Jan is more busy with peripheral events," said Van Basten.

Kromkamp played on Sunday against Manchester City, in which The Reds ran out as 1-0 winners thanks to a goal from Harry Kewell, however he is finding it hard to get into the regular starting eleven because of all the competition and the world class players.
