Blackburn look set to negotiate a new contract with Pedersen to steer away interest from other clubs.

Pedersen's lawyer, Torgeir Knutsen revealed that talks are looking to commence despite the players currently being away from their clubs due to the end of the season.

Tottenham are rumoured to be interested in Pedersen and he could be interested in a move away from the club if Tottenham can offer him a better deal than Blackburn.

"Blackburn have said that we are going to sit down and have talks about a new contract for Morten," said Knutsen to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.

"Right now, I think there's a vacation [in England] but I suppose something will happen soon."
