Boca Juniors are keen to rescue Juan Roman Riquelme from his ruptured relationship with Villarreal, although Internazionale could also enter the chase for the Argentinian star.
After playing such a prominent role in the Spanish club's run to the UEFA Champions League semi-final last season, Riquelme has fallen out with The Yellow Submarines and has not played since 17th December.
Reports in Spain have claimed that the club are unhappy with Riquelme's level of commitment and his future has been the subject of frenzied debate in recent weeks.
