Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign defender Ricardo Rocha from Benfica, the Portuguese club have confirmed.
The 28-year-old defender was in London on Monday to undergo a medical and will bolster Spurs' defence following recent injuries and departures.
Spurs' sporting director Damien Comolli confirmed the signing, saying on the club's official website www.tottenhamhotspur.com: "Ricardo is an accomplished defender who gives us further options in defence as he can play both in the centre and on the right."
