Sevilla in dark over Chelsea link

Sevilla sporting director Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo insists he has heard nothing from Chelsea about a potential swoop for highly-rated full-back Daniel Alves.

Alves has been the source of much transfer speculation with Primera Liga rivals Barcelona and English champions Chelsea both being linked to the 23-year-old.

However, Verdejo, who is more commonly known in Spain as 'Monchi', is adamant that neither club have approached Sevilla, while he also revealed they had reached an agreement with Alves about a new contact. Regarding Chelsea, Monchi said: "I have not received any offer nor any call from (Roman) Abramovich, from (Jose) Mourinho, or anybody from the English team."
