Managers Harry Redknapp and Sam Allardyce have been united in the face of adversity this week but have a score to settle when their Portsmouth and Bolton teams clash on Monday night.

Portsmouth against Bolton takes place at Fratton Park with the two bosses, subjects of allegations in the BBC Panorama documentary last week, facing each other from the dug-out. Allardyce swooped to sign Nicolas Anelka in an 8million deal from Fenerbahce after Redknapp had chased the French star all summer.

Now Redknapp admits: "He will do well for Bolton. You are talking about a highly-skilled player with tons of pace. That's why I tried to sign him. But he went to Bolton instead and that is part and parcel of the game. You can't go through life regretting things and I'm delighted with the players I did manage to sign."
