Kevin Doyle has revealed that a leg muscle injury has inhibited his contribution to the Royals cause this season - even though he has already helped himself to seven Premiership goals.
Doyle is behind just Didier Drogba and Nwankwo Kanu in the top flight scorers' charts, his septet of strikes leaving him equal with Wayne Rooney and one ahead of Thierry Henry.
But he feels he will can be even better when a muscle problem in his left leg is fully cleared up.
He said: "My left quad is 25% weaker than my right quad. That has been the case since the summer. One week, it is fine, but then I have to miss a few training sessions because it hurts.
"Last week, I didn't train until Thursday, but I have been doing a strengthening programme with [Reading physio] Jon Fearn and it has been okay this week.
"Personally, I don't think I've played my best stuff at all yet and hopefully there is a lot more to come."
