Manager Martin Jol has highlighted the need to tighten up in defence now his strikers have fired Tottenham back on track this season.

Jermain Defoe scored twice against Aston Villa on Tuesday, taking his tally for the season to 12, while Dimitar Berbatov has also reached double figures.

With Robbie Keane out for at least another couple of weeks with a knee injury and Mido suffering from a groin strain, Defoe and Berbatov are leading the attack as Spurs look to challenge in the top six of the Premiership. Beating Villa meant they remained seventh in the table, and it also took their run of consecutive wins at home to 12.
