Striker Daryl Murphy has become the third Irish front man at the club to be sidelined by injury in less than a week after picking up a hamstring injury against Leicester City on Saturday.

David Connolly and Stephen Elliott both limped off during the 3-0 win over Leeds United in midweek, having picked up thigh and ankle injuries respectively.

Their absences gave former Waterford United star Murphy a chance to return to the starting line-up, but he lasted just 15 minutes before succumbing to injury himself.

Manager Roy Keane said: "We won't know the situation with Daryl for a few days but it looks like a hamstring injury so you're usually looking at a few weeks. We've been a bit unlucky with our injuries, getting three in quick succession all to strikers.

"But we just have to get on with it and at least the 75 minutes Dwight Yorke got when he came on for Daryl will have done him a power of good."
