Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate admitted he was left "frustrated" after his side suffered Carling Cup defeat at the hands of Notts County on Wednesday night.
Southgate, who lifted the trophy as Boro captain in 2004, took full responsibility for the defeat, but said that blasting his players would be the wrong response.
He said: "There is no point being angry because that does not resolve anything. I am frustrated, but all the players are frustrated."
