Steve Coppell is confident Reading striker Kevin Doyle did not suffer a serious injury in the draw at Everton.
Doyle limped out of the 1-1 stalemate at Goodison Park on 37 minutes after hurting his hamstring in a chase for the ball with Joleon Lescott.
The Irish striker looked in some pain as he left the pitch and there were initial fears he could face several weeks on the sidelines.
But Reading boss Coppell feels his top scorer could be available for selection again in the early stages of February.
"It's a hamstring injury and who knows?" Coppell told Sky Sports News.
"It's right in the meat of the muscle and I think it's a couple of weeks at least.
"We've no history of him having an injury. We don't think so (that it is serious), but you never know."
