Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has given Craig Bellamy a pep talk ahead of Wednesday night's Champions League clash with Galatasaray.

The Anfield boss is preparing his side knowing Bellamy, Dirk Kuyt, Peter Crouch and Robbie Fowler all have strong claims to be in the starting line-up. But it is expected Benitez will at least stick with Bellamy, despite the Welshman having failed to score in eight matches.

Benitez said: "I have said to Craig the same thing I said to Peter Crouch last season when he wasn't scoring. I have told Craig he is playing well and working hard for the team, so I am happy."
