Klaas Jan Huntelaar struck twice as Dutch Eredivisie side Ajax cruised to a 5-2 victory over Norwegian outfit IK Start in their UEFA Cup first round first-leg clash.

Huntelaar opened the scoring after 18 minutes and Markus Rosenburg, Wesley Sneijder and Roger added to the tally before the Holland international completed the scoring with three minutes remaining.

Antoine Sibierski handed Newcastle a slim advantage over Levadia Tallinn with a goal on his debut for the Magpies. The Frenchman headed a 10th-minute Damien Duff free-kick past Artur Kotenko to give his side the perfect start, although they failed to build upon it.
