Louis Saha's deflected thunderbolt gave Manchester United their first Champions League away win in almost three years in the 1-0 victory over Benfica.

Although they struggled to impose themselves for long periods in the Stadium of Light, the Red Devils held their nerve and ultimately avenged their defeat in the same stadium last December.

It was the quick-thinking of Paul Scholes and the outstanding Cristiano Ronaldo that set up the win, combining to release Saha on the counter-attack, the Frenchman doing the rest with a devastating 20-yard finish that took a slight deflection on its way in.
