Bayern Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn has urged team-mate Owen Hargreaves to honour his contract with the Bundesliga club and forget about Manchester United's interest in him.

The England international has fallen out of favour in Munich after requesting a move to the Premiership just months after signing a new contract. United had expressed an interest in the midfielder after his impressive World Cup, but the German champions blocked any attempts to sign him.

And with Hargreaves now admitting a move to Manchester is unlikely to take place, Kahn believes the player should once more concentrate on his Bayern career, saying: "You cannot just sign a new three or four year contract and then disappear at the first opportunity."
