Former Irish International Alan Mahon has joined Burnely FC until the remainder of the season. With a view to a premanent deal during the Summer. Alan Mahon has not enjoyed much success at Wigan this season as he struggled to gain a first team place. Burnley manager Steve Cotterill admitted that they were already looking at signing the Irishman on a permanent basis and hoped that a deal could be sorted when the season ends.

"We managed to sort out a deal with Wigan to take Alan Mahon until the end of the season, with an agreed permanent deal going ahead at the end of the season," said Cotterill. 

 He will join up alongside Irish player Garreth O'Connor.
