Australia consider World Cup bid

Australia are considering a bid to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

This month's Commonwealth Games, which closed on Sunday, have been deemed a success and the nation's leaders are already turning their attention to attracting future events Down Under.

"The Games have been highly successful and I think people now expect us to do something as significant again in the future," Games Minister Justin Madden told the Herald Sun newspaper.
