Middlesbrough star Gaizka Mendieta admitted that he would like to see out his contract before returning back to his home country of Spain to finish his career.
Mendieta was part of the Boro team that won their first piece of silverware in history back in 2004, but has struggled with injuries to fix a regular spot in the side.
"I have two years left on my contract; I would be happy to see it out. A lot can happen in two years. I think I will be back home in two years' time," explained Gaizka.
The former Valencia star continued, "It feels like home now. It is my third year here, it is a long time to be in one place and I feel settled."
Middlesbrough face Charlton today in the Premiership, and if they manage to win it will lift them above Fulham to 14th.
