Stefanovic return on the cards

Portsmouth captain Dejan Stefanovic is back in full training after just two months out with an ankle deformity problem, however the defender will not rush manager Harry Redknapp into putting him back into the starting line-up. 

The 31-year-old centre-back admits he heard people suggesting that he would be out for the rest of the season, but he said that he remained positive throughout the ordeal. 

"But I was always confident I would be back with the squad well before that. I’m seeing the specialist to find out what is going on with the ankle now, although everything was fine, no problem." 

Stefanovic admits that a return to the starting line-up against Arsenal on Saturday would be to soon for him to come back from the injury. 

"I will have a word with Harry and see what he needs from me but from now to the end of the season I am going to be available as an emergency player. If somebody is injured I can step in, no problem, but I hope the team will keep playing the same way as in the last two matches."
