Steve McClarenwill be under orders to improve the coaching network as well as win a major tournament when he becomes England manager.
McClaren, 45,takes over from Sven-Goran Erikssonon August 1 after winning the race to succeed the Swede last week. The Middlesbrough boss is widely respected for his coaching skills and the Football Association's chief executive, Brian Barwick, plans to maximise his talents.
Barwick said: "His job is two-fold. Like any other England manager, he has to try and win 12 to 14 games a season. That's 80% of the job and that's what the public will mark him on. The other thing is to take a more significant place in helping coaching development. That is monitoring coaches and being involved in other England teams we field at different age groups."
