David Beckham has warned his England team-mates they must hit the ground running against Paraguay.
England are notoriously poor starters in big tournaments, often labouring through the group stage. They lost the first game to France, two years ago, in Euro 2004 but are determined to kick-off in style against Paraguay in Frankfurt on Saturday.
Beckham said: "If you don't start well in a big competition there's an added bit of pressure on you. Hopefully we can put that right this time. I don't think the games will be as easy as people are talking about."
