England World Cup-winner George Cohen has called for current captain David Beckham to be dropped.
Cohen does not believe Beckham is offering enough to the team at the World Cup in Germany and feels they may be better balanced if he was left out. Beckham's performances throughout the tournament have been criticised but he scored the only goal of the game against Ecuador to book a quarter-final clash with Portugal.
"I'd replace Beckham and give the captaincy to John Terry, Steven Gerrard or even Frank Lampard, I don't think Beckham's giving enough and we're relying too much on getting a free-kick or corner," Cohen told the 'Hold The Back Page' programme to be broadcast on ntlworld.com.
