eircom League First Division side Galway United have announced that English Coca-Cola Championship outfit Ipswich Town will visit Terryland Park for a high-profile friendly next month.

Ipswich have several Irishmen on their books, including Galway native Alan Lee and young guns Shane Supple and Owen Garvan, who have already established themselves as first-team regulars at Portman Road.

Cousins, who resigned the assistant manager's job at Premier Division leaders Drogheda United to take over in Galway, said: "Jim [Magilton] and I go back a long way. We have both recently taken over as managers of sides whose primary aim is to get promotion to the top flight. It will be a useful exercise for us and we are looking forward to the game."

The game takes place at Terryland Park on Wednesday, July 12th with a 7.30pm kick-off.
