Former Republic of Ireland international John Sheridan has taken charge of Oldham Athletic following the departure of Ronnie Moore.
Sheridan, 41, has been part of the backroom staff at Boundary Park for the past year and has previously served as caretaker manager of the Latics.
He now takes over the top job on a permanent basis - although the appointment is on a non-contract basis and will be reviewed as next season progresses.
Oldham Managing Director Simon Corney said: "John has always had a good rapport with the fans and likes to play entertaining football. I hope our decision will go a long way to boosting season ticket sales."
