Bent: I can lift Addicks
Marcus Bent has pleaded with Iain Dowie to give him the chance to rescue Charlton from their nightmare start to the Barclays Premiership.
Bent supplied the only goal as the Addicks dispatched Bolton for the second time this season, setting up a Carling Cup fourth-round appointment with Chesterfield.
He hopes he has done enough to convince Dowie he deserves to keep his place in the side ahead of Saturday's trip to Newcastle "Selection is the manager's decision so I've got to go along with it, do as well as I can in training and try and push for a place," he said.
