Downing ready for Boro return

Stewart Downing is set to return for Middlesbrough in Saturday`s Premiership clash with Manchester United at the Riverside Stadium.
Boro manager Gareth Southgate decided not to risk bringing the England winger back for the weekend draw at Aston Villa following a groin injury, but is confident he will be available to face the Red Devils.
Southgate said: "Stewart could possibly have played at Villa but I wasn't prepared to take the chance with the injury. It is important I look beyond the short term. He is a valuable asset and I didn't want to play him at Villa Park and lose him for four or five games."
