Dominic Foley the former Wolves, Watford ,Sporting Braga, Bohemian FC and current Gent striker has yet to receive a call from current Irish Gaffer Steve Staunton.
The lanky hit man has an impressive international record with one goal in every two games played for the ROI. Indeed his last international cap was under Mick McCarthy. The Cork native had been one of the best Irish international strikers over the last number of years however the fact remains that the FAI team , including Staunton are not bothered to witness the man play football outside the Britsih isles.
Indeed following his move to Portugal with Braga he vanished from the international picture and this trend continued when he signed for Dublin side Bohemian FC. Currently Foley is playing for Belgian side Gent and his status and value over there has grown and grown.
In contrast Staunton struggles to find quality forwards instead he calls up the services of a player who has never even played a reserve game for spurs Terry Dixon.
