Barcelona look to have avoided a potential striker crisis after it was revealed Eidur Gudjohnsen's ankle injury is not as bad as initially feared.
The Iceland international was carried off on a stretcher in the second half of Tuesday nights Champions League match against Chelsea, after landing awkwardly on his left ankle.
A serious injury to Gudjohnsen would have left Barca desperately short of cover up front, with star striker Samuel Etoo out until next year and Maxi Lopez on loan at Real Mallorca. But Barcelona have confirmed that Gudjohnsen, who underwent an MRI scan on Wednesday morning, has not damaged the ligaments in his left ankle and could be back in action soon.
