Speculation linking Derry City manager Stephen Kenny with the vacant manager's position at Scottish Premier League side Dunfermline Athletic has intensified among reports that Kenny travelled to East End Park at the weekend.
Kenny has forged a reputation as one of the brightest young managers in the game, transforming Derry City from relegation candidates to contenders for all the major honours in his two years in charge.
Beaten to the eircom League crown on the final day of last season, the Candystripes are in contention for a domestic Treble this season - having already lifted the League Cup, they are just three points behind leaders Shelbourne in the league and can look forward to an FAI Carlsberg Cup final against St Patrick's Athletic next month.
Derry have also enjoyed a successful year in Europe, overcoming IFK Gothenburg of Sweden and Scottish side Gretna in the Uefa Cup before bowing out to Paris St Germain.
The Belfast Telegraph reports today (Tuesday) that neither Derry City nor Dunfermline - who parted company with Jim Leishman two weeks ago - were willing to comment on the growing speculation on Monday, a silence which has only fuelled the fires of uncertainty surrounding Kenny's future.
