Cameroon international Joseph Ndo lifted the Professional Footballers' Association of Ireland (PFAI) Player of the Year award on Sunday night.
Ndo came out on top ahead of Shelbourne teammate Ollie Cahill, Derry City pair Gary Beckett and Ciaran Martyn, Cork City's Joe Gamble and Drogheda United defender Jason Gavin.
He becomes the first foreign winner of the award, which has now been won by Shels players in five of the past eight years.
Current manager Pat Fenlon lifted the PFAI gong in 2000 followed by Owen Heary two years later and Jason Byrne in '03 and '04.
