Manchester United striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy is doubtful to play against Wigan on Monday after complaining of having stomach ache.
The Holland star was dropped from the team to play in the Carling Cup final in favour of Louis Saha.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson admitted that he had to play Saha in fear of losing him in the summer. "If I didn't play Louis in the final after he had scored so many goals, he might say 'I can get a regular place somewhere else'" said Ferguson.
To disappoint even more, Sir Alex has denied claims that he will play Rooney, Saha and Van Nistelrooy up-front together.
"You could play the three of them but I don't think you could do it every week. The problem is you need to find some balance because playing three down the middle does not work at all. We have always been a team that uses the full width of the pitch and we need to play people who are prepared to get out to the sides," added the former Aberdeen manager.
