League of Ireland Champions Cork City defeated Shels in last nights big game. City were behind in the first half following a goal from Irish International Jason Byrne. His goal came from the penalty spot after Cork keeper Devine brought down Byrne in the penalty area. However Cork came back into the game with a superb free kick from George O'Callaghan. The goal was descibed by team mate and Irish international Joe Gamble as 'unbelievable'. Clearly it wont be long until Irish boss Steve Staunton takes notice of the superb O'Callaghan. Although Shel$ started that game brightly it was the home side that took all the points following a superb finish from former spurs player Neale Fenn. Cork City now reclaim top position in the table and move ahead of rivals Drogheda United. In contrast Shels will be angered by the result as out of sorts Glen Crowe missed an excellent opportunity to salavge someting from the game, as he missed what seemed a certain goal. Shels will now host Garreth Farrelly and Bohemian FC on Friday night. With Bohs eger to defeat there rivals after last seasons loss.
