Roy Keane is expected to announce in the coming days that he will see out the final year of his contract at Celtic.
Keane indicated after an emotional testimonial return to Old Trafford two weeks ago that he would take time out before reaching a decision.
He is due to have talks with experts regarding the hip and hamstring injuries which have curtailed his impact since moving to Parkhead before Christmas.
But one of the Cork man's closest associates feels that he will see out another year in Glasgow.
Keane's long-time adviser, solicitor Michael Kennedy, said: "Roy is contracted to them next season so I don't see why not. He hasn't spoken to the specialist yet but he will do that when he returns from his holiday."
