Italy coach Marcello Lippi has been given the green light to lead the national team at the World Cup.
The new commissioner of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) Guido Rossi has confirmed Lippi will be in charge of the Azzurri squad in Germany. Rossi, accompanied by Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) supremo Gianni Petrucci, met Lippi and the national team at the Azzurri headquarters in Coverciano, Florence, on Monday.
"I have come here alongside CONI president Petrucci to place our complete confidence and trust in Marcello Lippi and this national team," said Rossi. "I have never had any doubts regarding him."
