Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd claims England officials took too long to put the Magpies in the picture about Michael Owen's latest injury scare.
Owen is in contention to play in England's friendly international against Hungary at Old Trafford, but he needed a scan on a tight thigh muscle after training on Monday, which fortunately for England showed no damage.
"I am disappointed that no-one within the England camp informed us immediately of the situation regarding Michael on Monday," Shepherd told the club's official website, www.nufc.co.uk.
