Redknapp in talks on new Pompey deal
Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp is set to open talks with the club's co-owners to discuss a proposed new two-year contract and claims: "This will be my last job in football."
The 59-year-old former West Ham and Bournemouth manager rescued Pompey from Premiership relegation with a staggering run of results after his controversial return to the club for a second spell from rivals Southampton in December.
The side were second to bottom in the table at that stage and were still eight points adrift of safety in March following a 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa. But then Redknapp, who had brought in nine new players during the January transfer window, put together an unbeaten run comprising four wins and two draws. And they finally clinched survival with a 2-1 win at Wigan.
