Veteran former England manager Bobby Robson will be back at the right hand of Irish boss Steve Staunton for this evening's friendly against Chile at Lansdowne Road.
Robson missed the four-day training camp in Portugal after recently undergoing surgery to remove a suspected cancerous tumour from his lung.
He made the trip to Dublin on Tuesday, where he linked up with on-loan Leeds United pair Jonathan Douglas and Liam Miller, who also missed the trip to the Alvarge through club commitments.
Staunton said of his international advisor: "I've spoken to him and he seems great, although [the trip to Portugal] would probably have been a bit too much for him. But he's been very keen and eager to get in for the game, and I will be happy to see him."
