First division club Shamrock Rovers, have been handed some good news with the inclusion of there goal keeper Barry Murphy into the Irish u21 squad. The Hoops who were relegated last season will be delighted that there goal keeper has been called into the Irish set up. The Hoops star benefits from the red card shown to first-choice keeper Darren Quigley, of UCD, in last week's initial tie in Baku.
Murphy and Rene Gilmartin, the Walsall youngster who made his under-21 debut as a substitute last week, are now vying for the starting spot for the second leg at the Kilkenny venue on Thursday evening.
Murphy, 20, has been first-choice keeper for Rovers for the past season and a half, and is delighted to have finally received an international call - as he thought he had lost his opportunity.
