Russell Latapy believes he has the whole Scottish nation, and most of Wales too, behind the bid to make little Trinidad and Tobago the shock side of the World Cup finals.

The 37-year-old Falkirk forward, one of six Scottish-based players in the Trinidad and Tobago squad - who will be accompanied by Wrexham's Dennis Lawrence and former Racecourse Ground star Carlos Edwards - have had plenty of support from their adopted homes. That might be connected to the fact they face England in Nuremberg on June 15.

Their Dutch coach Leo Beenhakker spells it out, saying: "Come aboard, the more the merrier. We welcome Scottish and Welsh people backing us."
