Sven-Goran Eriksson will make no special effort to keep Wayne Rooney calm as the striker starts his first game of the World Cup finals.
Rooney will be named in the team against Sweden in Cologne as England look for the point they need to win Group B. The Manchester United striker, back after a broken foot, has been criticised in the past for his reckless over-exuberance. But the England boss does not want to change his style and risk losing some of Rooney's magic.
Eriksson said: "He has learned a lot during his short career. He has become better at controlling himself. You can't take that away from him because that is one of his strengths. He has that fire inside him. He is living on the edge."
