West Ham defender Anton Ferdinand believes his brother Rio deserved to be considered for the England captaincy.
England boss Steve McClaren awarded the armband to Chelsea's John Terry, with Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard named vice-captain.
But Ferdinand feels Rio, Terry's partner at the heart of the England defence, was also worthy of consideration. "I am surprised people weren't talking about him but it is not in my brother's nature to come out and say he wants to be England captain," said Ferdinand.
