Iain Dowie expects Luke Young to be available for Saturday's match with Chelsea after the defender returned early from England duty.

Young, 27, did not travel out to Macedonia with the rest of the national team squad ahead of tomorrow's Euro 2008 qualifier in Skopje as a precautionary measure following his recent ankle problems.

The right-back missed the final few weeks of last season, and subsequently missed out on selection for the World Cup squad in the summer.

Dowie, though, maintains there are no fresh fitness concerns over his skipper.

"It was decided that Luke should return as a precautionary measure," the Charlton manager insisted.

"He has been in outstanding form since the start of the season and we still expect him to be in consideration for the game at the weekend."
