The future of Northern Ireland manager Lawrie Sanchez has been thrown into doubt and there are even claims locally he could be ready to leave his post.
The Irish Football Association are due to release a statement explaining why Sanchez refused to attend a post-match press conference. He snubbed all requests for interviews at Windsor Park following the magnificent 3-2 victory against Spain in a Euro 2008 qualifier.
Sanchez left the team hotel to head back to England and attend a family funeral. The manager's relationship with the media has deteriorated and he came in for some stiff criticism following the defeat by Iceland on Saturday.
