Cech moves closer to home

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has been moved to a hospital closer to his home after showing good progress this week.

Cech, 24, underwent emergency surgery after fracturing his skull in a collision with Reading's Stephen Hunt, in the first minute of Chelsea's 1-0 win at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday. He left the Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford on Thursday and Chelsea released a statement on their website, www.chelseafc.com, which confirmed the Czech Republic international's move.

The statement said: "Chelsea Football Club can confirm that Petr Cech has been moved from the Radcliffe Infirmary following his successful operation for a depressed fracture of the skull. Petr will continue his recovery in a hospital closer to his home. Petr's condition is improving every day and he is now walking again unaided."
