Barnsley manager Andy Ritchie has threatened to pull the plug on Nick Colgan's involvement in the Republic of Ireland set-up after the goalkeeper was overlooked for a place in Steve Staunton's starting line-up against the Czech Republic.
Staunton chose to start youngster Wayne Henderson ahead of Colgan after first-choice duo Shay Given and Paddy Kenny were ruled out by injury.
Neither Henderson nor Colgan had played a competitive international before, but Ritchie has slammed Staunton's decision to start the more inexperienced of the two.
He said: "I found it a bit strange that Nick was not involved against the Czech Republic.
"I was very disappointed, especially since Henderson had hardly played a game all season for Brighton. We are going to have to talk about Nick's involvement in the future."
