Delap on the move to Stoke
Rory Delap is on the brink of a loan move from Sunderland, with Stoke City poised to sign the former Republic of Ireland international.
Delap joined the Black Cats from Southampton in January, but has made just one start for the club since the arrival of Roy Keane as manager five weeks ago.
And Keane has revealed that the 30-year-old is in talks with Stoke. He said: "Rory went to see Stoke last week and he's been speaking to them over the last few days. I think that could happen but it's really down to Rory and Stoke.
"When you think something is nearly done it can quickly change, so I'm a bit wary of saying too much at the moment."
Should a deal go through, Delap could make his Potters debut against Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday, but it is likely that he would be ineligible for Stoke's clash with Sunderland next week.
