FAI President , John Delaney, is under severe pressure. Not only is the national side struggling bt the dometic league is being governed in a shameful manner. Questions still remain why, Stephen Staunton was appointed manager of the Irish national side. Furthermore his backroom team includes former Bray boss Pat Devlin, who also acts as B manager. Amazingly Devlin is well know to be Damien Duff's agent. However it is understood he has links with other players in the squad. A conflict of interest very much exists as Devlin will be eager to show of the talents of his players. Maybe Stan will receive a cut from Devlins exploits? Or maybe not.
Furthermore the eircom League is in turmoil as Ollie Byrne continues to dictate how the league is governed. It is worth reminding ourselves the Byrne, is a convicted criminal! Yet he remains Chairman of Shelbourne FC. Only yesterday he demanded a replay for a fixture against bohs in which his team was beaten by the better side . His reasoning is that Bohs played a suspended player. However Bohemian FC were not notified of this by the FAI. Delaney has much to worry about within the next week. His choice as manager of the national side is under considerbale pressure. While also amaxingly refusing to recall Carsley from Everton who has played superb football in recent times. This omission may cost both Delaney and Staunton much discomfort over very near future.
