Roy Keane will look to add to his squad when the transfer window re-opens in the New Year.

Keane's side ended a run of back-to-back defeats with a home victory over fellow strugglers Barnsley at the weekend.

They needed two late goals to overcome the Tykes, however, and Keane is looking forward to availing of financial backing from the board in January.

He said: "We are always looking to bring in new players who will improve the squad, and there will possibly be money available for me to spend in January.

"But, with the backing from the board, comes responsibility because we haven't got unlimited millions to spend.

"Even in the last transfer window, we didn't spend as much as perhaps some people thought we might.

"I'm always looking to bring in players who can take us to where we want to go, not just signing people willy-nilly."
