Theo Walcott is looking to emulate the World Cup exploits of record-breaking striker Ronaldo after comparing his experience in Germany this summer to the Brazilian's first taste of football's showpiece event in 1994.
The 17-year-old was a shock inclusion in the England squad that reached the quarter-finals but, like Ronaldo 12 years previously, did not see any action.
"I just feel I was lucky to be a part of it, and I certainly learnt a lot," Walcott told the Daily Express. "I had to learn how to deal with pressure and, long-term, it will prove to be a good all-round learning experience. Ronaldo went to the World Cup with Brazil when he was 17 and didn't play, but it didn't do him any harm."
