Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez remained defiant after seeing Premiership leaders Manchester United extend the gap between the sides to 16 points.
The Reds left Middlesbrough still waiting for their first league away win of the campaign, although having collected a first point since the opening day of the season.
But asked if their hopes of breaking Chelsea's stranglehold on the Premiership are at an end, Benitez replied: "I have explained many times, when you are not winning away but you are playing well. You need to analyse why you do not score goals, but you cannot look at the table every day or every weekend."
